What is going on with draws at Grand Slams?

John McEnroe said last night, and I repeat the question here: why does Nadal get the easiest draws and Djokovic and Federer have wound up in the same half of the draw 13 of the last 14 times in major tournaments? Why do players who beat Nadal always get put on the other side after they beat him, but someone like Jo-Wilfred Tsonga who has beaten Federer twice in a row keeps popping up in Federer’s quarter (forget half). After Soderling beat Nadal at the 2009 French Open, he was in Federer’s half the next three grand slam events. As Arsenio Hall used to say, “Things that make you go hmmm…” All the “hot” players are in Djokovic and Fed’s half: Berdych, Tsonga, Isner, Fish. Nadal: del Potro or Murray in the semi-finals.
